Starting anything new can be a challenge. In my professional life, I am a project manager so I’m approaching my triathlon training and this blog very similar to how I would approach a new project at work. Build out a list of objectives, goals and expectations and then slowly begin tackling them one-by-one. So, for the newsletter, let’s begin!
Posting Plan & Schedule:
Training Plans, Goals and Updates: Weekly posts each Friday on how my training is going, any changes, and a lookahead for what is next. This will include nutrition updates and information on how my Type 1 diabetes management is going - which might be the most exciting part for me because this will force me to keep very close track on my sugar levels and how my body is reacting to the activity.
Deep Dives: Each week I plan to post a long-form piece covering anything from triathlon news, diabetic education, how we can grow the endurance community, etc. I plan on collaborating with companies and other individuals to promote sustainable approaches within the sport and how we can increase participation across the endurance sport world. Explore and answer questions like:
How can we reduce the initial cost to participate?
How can reduce our carbon footprint?
What type of gear is necessary and what isn’t?
How endurance sports can reduce the obesity problem we have in our country.
How can we improve overall mental health?
How do we make running fun?
I am very excited to start this newsletter and see where it goes. I have no expectations for making it “big.” This is more than popularity or viewership. This is about doing my part to be healthier and promote a better lifestyle for others so that I can leave the world in a better place for my daughter and the next generation.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more!
Life is short! Be a good person!
